RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Nevada Department of Agriculture is reporting more cases of West Nile Virus have been found in northern Nevada. Infected mosquitoes have been confirmed in Washoe County, Carson City and Mason Valley.

Earlier this month, the agency detected mosquito pools that tested positive for West Nile in Douglas County. The Department of Agriculture suggests animal owners update their pets' vaccines. Mosquito season usually lasts through October.
