RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- More winter weather is expected to hit the region, but experts say the recent moisture is still not enough to wash away the drought.

Chris Smallcomb with the National Weather Service said the snow pack level near Donor Lake is used as an indicator for where the snow pack level should be, but it's down about 20 to 30 ft. of snow from where it should be.

The recent storms are good for ski resorts, but still not quite the precipitation the area needs, Smallcomb said. This will be the third straight year the region has recieved below normal snow fall.

Weather in this area is highly changeable at this time of year. I have put on tire chains to get over Donner Pass in June.
