CHARLOTTE, NC (MyNews4.com & KRNV) - According to the NBC affiliate in Charlotte, NC, the Charlotte Mecklenburg School Board has unanimously approved Dr. Heath Morrison as Superintendent.
He will start the new job in Charlotte, NC on July 1, 2012. His four year contract is said to be worth more than $300,000 a year. Morrison beat out two contenders, CMS Chief Academic Officer Ann Clark and Memphis Superintendent Kriner Cash for the job.
Morrison was Washoe County Superintendent in Reno for three years. In 2012, he was named National Superintendent of the Year by the American Association of School Administrators.
According to Morrison, the new job will allow him to be closer to family.
