Sparks, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Sparks Police report that a mountain lion was spotted on Pinewood Ave at 6 p.m. on March 16th.

According to the police report on the incident, multiple callers reported a mountain lion in the 1000 block of Pinewood avenue. Sparks Police Officers searched several of the yards on that block, but couldn't find the wild animal. The Nevada Department of Wildlife was also informed of the situation.

Police continued to track the animal as it moved eastbound and more callers reported sightings, but it eventually disappeared.

The police department would like to use this as an opportunity to remind citizens to remain cautious around wild animals, and maintain a safe distance.

If the animal does return, report any sightings to Sparks Dispatch at 353-2231.
