(Gardnerville, NV--KRNV)--A 29-year-old woman is in custody after Douglas County Sheriff's deputites responded to a call of shots fired in the 1300 block of Toler Lane just before 11:30 this morning.
Sheriff Ron Pierini said, "When deputies arrived, they discoved a male, who was in his 20's, lying dead in the entrance way to the home." Pierini said, "It appears the victim's belongings were in boxes and bags on the front lawn."
In custody is Nichole Gollowill. She is facing charges of open murder and is being held without bail. Peirini said, "She was brought down to our Sheriff's Office for an interview but she chose not to talk with investigators."
Pierini said there was no record of violence at the address or between the two, however he noted, "I can tell you we do have some people who live around this area who said there was some yelling and screaming between the two so it's easy to say there was a domestic violence situation."
A next door neighbor agreed. Mike Lees added, "We have heard them arguing. He's a relatively new boyfriend." Lees said, "There was nothing out of the ordinary but we could hear her argue with him mostly about his lack of work or him not working."
Lees said Followill had lived in the residence for at least a year. He believes the male had been staying at the house for a few months.
Authorities say Followill's brother is the one who called in the initial report. As for the victim, information about him is being withheld until his family is notified.
