LAS VEGAS (AP, MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- State Senator Mark Hutchison has won the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor. Hutchison was locked in a heated battle with Sue Lowden, who has conceded the race.

Hutchison will square off against Nevada state lawmaker Lucy Flores, who won the Democratic nomination. The two-term assemblywoman from Las Vegas defeated Navy veteran Harley Kulkin in the primary Tuesday night.

Flores enjoyed the support of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in her bid for lieutenant governor, whose primary job is to oversee tourism in Nevada.

Hutchison had the backing of Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval while the state GOP officially endorsed Lowden.
