RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Nevada Gaming Commission has approved the use of prepaid debit cards to be used on slot machines.

Last week, the Commission reach a unanimous 4-0 decision to approve amendments in state regulations, paving the way for use of the cards. The technology that allows prepaid debit cards tied to a casino customer's rewards cards must still be approved by the Gaming Control Board before they can be used.

This new technology was contested for some time, due to concerns directly from the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling.
