RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Nevada Highway Patrol is proud to announce that Trooper Ron Larson, with 24 years of service, is the senior trooper in Nevada.
In his time with NHP, Larson has served as Sergeant, Trooper, and Field Training Officer (FTO). Larson has worked in two duty stations throughout his career, Reno and Carson City, both within Northern Command West. From March 11, 2003 to August 27, 2007 Larson was a Sergeant and was assigned to Reno where he completed four and a half years of his five years as Sergeant before going back to Carson City where he has served since then. Larson relinquished the rank of Sergeant and remained a Trooper in Carson City.
Larson has also given volunteer hours to Special Olympics Nevada and he is the current president of Peace Officer Research Association of Nevada (PORAN).
The Colonel of the Highway Patrol, Troy L. Abney, will be giving Trooper Larson with his new badge this Friday at the Nevada Highway Patrol Head Quarters located in Carson City.
