LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada congressman is calling on elected officials in the state to rid a town in his district of armed militia members who have rallied around rancher Cliven Bundy in his battle with federal land managers.

Democratic Rep. Steven Horsford, in an address in Las Vegas on Saturday, said he's making the request after hearing more complaints from constituents about the presence of Bundy's supporters around Bunkerville, 75 miles northeast of Las Vegas.

He singled out Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval, Republican U.S. Sen. Dean Heller and Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie in his speech, urging them to "do their part of get rid of these armed separatists."

In an interview on the "Nevada Newsmakers" television show taped Friday, Sandoval said Gillespie continues to monitor the situation in the Bunkerville area.

What LAWS are the Militia members breaking? If they're violating any laws, local law enforcement can cite or arrest the individuals for that, but otherwise they have every right to remain there. Where does the BLM get THEIR authority from? Did America get a vote on the forming of the BLM? Who authorized the BLM's use of Military type armament and Snipers to conduct a cattle confiscation? Why is there such a push to remove Bundy's volunteer "Security" group? Is it THAT critical to disarm him?

One man's punk is another man's patriot. Bottom line is, these people are on Bundy's private land and they can profess whatever political beliefs they choose. They still have the constitutional rights to speak their beliefs, peacefully assemble and carry arms.

We have laws to keep order, otherwise we can be the wild west again, everybody claiming everything as their own. Bundy needs to pay his fees for the right to use our (not just his) land for his benefit.
