National Safe Boating Week goes full throttle

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The state of Nevada officially kicked off National Safe Boating week, a seven day event aimed to educate the area in boating safety.

Officials at the event hope to remind everyone to keep their safety gear up to date and make the public aware of local recreational boating opportunities and safety programs.

During the week NDOW will be conducting a number of programs, including new life jacket "loaner" stations and a a life jacket giveaway program. National Safe Boating Week ends Friday, May 23rd.
