RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Last month, News 4 reported on the criminal backgrounds of the Nevada Health Link navigators, who act similar to insurance agents for Nevada's Silver State Exchange.
On Tuesday, Nevada Insurance Commissioner Scott Kipper said that of the 330 certified Health Link navigators, only ten of them had a criminal background. Each one of those people were carefully screened to ensure they were not likely to commit any kind of crime with personal information.
"If they pass their background check, they are granted a certificate to act as a navigator," Kipper said. "But it's only after making sure they have a high level of education, and a high level of trust."
Kipper said they have not had a single complaint regarding an insurance navigator. If there is a complaint, you can submit it directly on the to the Nevada Division of Insurance at http://doi.nv.gov/Consumers/File-A-Complaint
