CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — The brother of a taxicab driver killed last month in a fiery shootout and crash on the Las Vegas Strip is speaking out against gun violence.

Tehran Boldon urged members of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

His brother, Michael Boldon, was one of three people killed Feb. 21 when the driver of a Maserati was gunned down and his car careened into others vehicles before erupting in a fireball.

Friday's hearing followed testimony late Thursday on a bill sponsored by Democratic Sen. Justin Jones of Las Vegas. That measure heard by the Senate Health and Human Services Committee mandates universal background checks for all gun transactions in Nevada and tightens gun control laws for those suffering from mental illness.

Democratic Sen. Justin Jones, born in California, “Go Figure” raised in California and Utah. Need I say more?? It's those "High Capacity" Mesarati magazines that are to blame!

Quote "Tehran Boldon urged members of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Friday to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines." So since his brother was killed by a Maserati with a fuel tank that held more than 6 gallons of fuel that is an assault weapon? I think the senator is the one that needs a mental check up.

His brother was not killed by guns - his brother was killed by the Maserati - so let's ban Maseratis! Why does anyone need a Maserati? No one needs to go that fast. No one needs a fast car which can kill many people at once - as Las Vegas knows - if it goes out of control. Maseratis are the real danger.
