RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Reno Artist Ron Spears will appear at the Greater Reno Stamp & Cover Show and will be on-hand to help showcase the Nevada Statehood stamp and collectibles.

Spears, the celebrated Reno artist who created the image used for the Nevada Statehood Stamp, will appear from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26th for autographs and photos. Stamps, prints and collectibles of the stamp image as well as his other work will be available. The stamp show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hall of Fame Museum in the National Bowling Stadium, on 300 N. Center St.

The Nevada Statehood Forever Stamp was released nationwide last month and celebrates the 150th anniversary of Nevada, which became the 36th state Oct. 31, 1864. Spears, a Nevada resident, created the stamp art, which depicts a close-up view of an area in Fire Canyon, part of Valley of Fire, Nevada’s oldest state park.
