Reno, NV (MyNews4.com) -- The Nevada men's basketball team will be missing a key component as the season opener nears.  For now, JUCO transfer Center AJ West is not available to play for the Wolf Pack pending a decision by the NCAA regarding eligibility, according to the University of Nevada.

The university's statement also mentioned it has nothing to do with academic eligibility.  The issue is related to West's competition right after high school.  Nevada Head Coach David Carter said in the press release that he remains hopeful for a positive outcome.
