RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada's football team is headed back to Notre Dame for a game in 2016.
The schools' announced Friday they've reached a one-year deal for the Wolf Pack to travel to South Bend, Ind., to face the Fighting Irish on Sept. 10 of that year.
It will be a homecoming of sorts for Nevada Coach Brian Polian, who was an assistant at Notre Dame from 2005-09. He was the special teams coordinator the last two seasons, including in 2009 when a Nevada team led by quarterback Colin Kaepernick lost at Notre Dame, 35-0.
Nevada also will play at Purdue in 2016 on Sept. 24 and host UCLA on Sept. 17.
