VIRGINIA CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A group of Civil War buffs took the term 'battle born' to heart yesterday in Virginia City.
As they do every Labor Day weekend, the Comstock Civil War Reenactors helped provide visitors with a glimpse into the past with a very realistic display of a Civil War battle.
Even though no battles were fought in the Silver State, soldiers from what was then known as the Nevada Territory did fight in the war.
As one actor explains, this reenactment identifies what the battle could have looked like in Nevada, given our particular set of resources.
"Our job is to harrass them. We're going to take out the train and anything else we can to just make the war impossible to fight for the Southerners," says Kevin Wilcomb.
Civil War Days included more reenactments, balloon rides, and the Labor Day parade.
