I certainly hope that this Legislature does not place higher value on scholarships for anyone and everyone over ESSENTIAL State employees. Priorities have been skewed for tooooo long.

The Legislature is RESPONSIBLE for local government BUDGETS--they approve city, county, school district budgets. Let's get the employee compensation at the local level down to something reasonable. 10% across the board plus deeper cuts for Vegas firefighters, social workers, many others.

Well that's a first small step. Now how about restoring some of our salary and benefits! With everything in the world costing more and more, my pay has gone down and down for the last five years. No cost of living, no merit increases, no longevity pay, no professional pay, numerous layoffs AND mandatory furloughs. When will the state straighten up it's budget and quit balancing it on the backs of hard working state employees? Find the waste in government (I know it is out there), cut it out completely and then you will have the money to pay the remaining, necessary and essential state personnel a decent wage.
