SPRING CREEK, Nev. (AP) — An Elko County man who says he was trying to shoot a dog on his property has been arrested after a bullet went through his neighbor's house.

Undersheriff Clair Morris says 56-year-old Steven Trainor was booked into the county jail Thursday on suspicion of shooting a gun at or into an occupied structure.

He says Trainor fired his 9 mm pistol at the unwanted dog but missed and hit the house.

The bullet traveled through the home until it hit a bathroom window.

Morris says the neighbors were home at the time and one had just finished showering in the bathroom five minutes before the shooting.

The dog was gone by the time deputies arrived.

Morris says it's illegal to shoot a dog even if it's trespassing.

Being from San Fransisco I'll bet you have worn a "bridle" before! Thanks for your input. The story is not complete without the Bass Clef.

I chuckle at all this blogger bridling, and the concept of a "trespassing" dog...

Stupid people that do not know the law is why the rest of us are having a hard time holding on to our rights! To all idiot's that think you can discharge a firearm because "it is on my property". You better read up on the law! Stand your ground law is a reasonable law, but you better have someone or something pose the potential danger of loss of life or limb before you shoot! This idiot should just take himself out of the gene pool!

What an idiot! This man shouldn't be allowed to have a firearm. Most people call animal control if they have unwanted animal on their property. They don't shoot them! The dog is more human than this individual is. Hope he gets what he deserves.
