LAS VEGAS (AP, — A coalition of Nevada media including The Associated Press is making a formal demand for the state Legislature to release a detailed report that a select panel reviewed before recommended expelling Assemblyman Steven Brooks.

News 4 has independently requested a report.

A two-page open records request was delivered Thursday to the commission chairman, Assembly Democratic Majority Leader William Horne, and Legislative lawyers.

It calls the report a public document. It was prepared by panel independent counsel Mark Ferrario and reviewed late Tuesday by the seven-member bipartisan panel.

Horne says he got the letter from attorney Don Campbell on behalf of 14 newspaper and broadcast entities.

Horne says state legislative lawyers will prepare a response.

Campbell says the two, 25-page reports and thick binder with 900 pages of supporting material are clearly public documents.
