RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Tesla Motors is expected to announce the final sites for its massive giga-factory project. Four states are in the running, including Arizona, Texas, New Mexico and Nevada.

The announcement is expected to come after the stock market closes Wednesday. The factory will produce batteries for the company's next generation of all-electric cars and could hire as many as 6,500 people. The 10-million-sq.-ft factory is expected to be on a 1,000 acre site.

Once Tesla decides on the site for its giga-factory, construction is slated to begin in the summer of 2014.
