RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Last month unemployment claims in Nevada were down fifteen percent from where they were during the month of April in 2013.

This is actually the 17th straight month initial claims have fallen from the previous year. Unemployment numbers have also been down 50 of the past 53 months.

Bill Anderson, the Chief Economist for Nevada's Department of Employment Training and Rehabilitation, says some caution is necessary when looking at the improvement in numbers, but says the lower unemployment rate suggests the state's labor market continues to recover.
