RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- Problems in signing up for Nevada's Health Link insurance programs have now devolved into problems with canceling the health link policy.

Gordon Cornell recently got a new job and wants to cancel his policy through Nevada Health Link, but says it hasn't been easy and was told it might take up to 90 days to process his request. News4 tried to get an answer for him from the Nevada Health Link, but was unable to garner a response at this time.

A health insurance expert in Reno says typically, it's very easy to cancel health insurance by calling a company or your broker and simply canceling. Now, there is an extra layer through the Exchange.

News 4's expert says when experiencing trouble with the exchange, go directly to the insurance carrier to cancel. If all else fails, contact an insurance broker for help.
