Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Marily Mora is the new President and CEO of the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority after a unanimous vote today, May 16, 2013.
Marily Mora is back in Reno with 25 years of Airport Management experience under her belt and she is ready to get started as the new CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority, "I am so thrilled to be back in Reno and back at this airport that I love."
Mora will be replacing Krys Bart, who is retiring after 14 years with the Airport.
Brian Kulpin, the Vice President of marketing and public affairs for the airport says it's an exciting time for our community, "This is a continuation of success, yet a change at the same time. She brings experience from three international airports to our community, that's fantastic."
Mora will officially begin her new position on July 1st and says creating jobs for Northern Nevadans is at the top of her list, "We are going to be working on this airport being an economic catalyst for the region."
She also wants the community to be more involved with the airport and everything it has to offer, "We have some issues on air service right now, we've lost a significant number of flights, our passenger numbers are down. We need to actively engage with the community."
Mora is no newcomer to the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, she worked as the Chief Operating Officer for 12 years and recently moved to the Oakland International Airport for the last 18 months.
She says she has learned a great deal since being gone, but one thing has remained true, "Ya know, I have some new tools that I get to come back with, you always learn something, but something that I've learned on the positive side of things is how great this community is."
