New addition to UNR's earthquake engineering lab

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & -- A monumental addition was made to UNRs earthquake engineering lab earlier today.

The first of two 30 ton 90 foot long bridge cranes were swung into place earlier this morning. The completion of the steel setting portion of the $18 million expansion project of the lab was celebrated with a topping out ceremony at the world renown facility.

The 30 ton bridge crane will be used to assemble building and bridge specimens for testing on the shake tables when the lab is completed.
