RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Washoe County Sheriff's Office says there will be no criminal charges filed against former Reno Police sergeant Jim Stegmaier.
Capt. Darin Balaam of WCSO says they're wrapping up their investigation of Stegmaier. He was accused of committing mortgage fraud with the purchase of a vacation home in California, but Balaam says no bank is willing to cooperate, so they are unable to pursue the case.
WCSO says the investigation will be done by the end of the month, but at this point it looks like there will be no criminal charges against Stegmaier.
