REDDING, Calif. (AP) — CalFire says a wildfire north of Day in Northern California is 100 percent contained after burning 20 square miles.

At a news conference Tuesday at a fire coordination center in Redding, California, Interior Secretary Sally Jewell called on Congress to enact legislation allowing federal disaster funds to be spent on the biggest wildfires.

CalFire Chief Ken Pimlott says that three years of drought have contributed to explosive fire conditions across Northern California.
