RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The inaugural Northern Nevada Pride Week is celebrating unity and diversity with a variety of events taking place all week.

Tuesday is geared towards youth, and a 'Homies Youth Day' is being hosted at Reno Art Works from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday's event is free to attend and community members of all ages are invited. One of the highlights of the week will be the carnival-themed festival and parade at Wingfield Park.

"So we have a parade, and then we have a festival all day with midway games--and we'll also have food trucks! We partnered with Reno Street Food . . . so there's something for everyone in the family to come down and do," said Meredith Tanzer, spokesperson for Northern Nevada Pride Week.

The 4th annual community parade is Saturday at 10:00 a.m. down 1st Street between Ralston Street and Arlington Avenue, with the Northern Nevada Pride Festival following from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Wingfield Park.
