RENO, Nev. (KRNV & -- 11-year-old Sajid Khan says his old computer was too slow for his video games, so he made a new one.

"It's actually pretty easy," Sajid said. "You just need like 13 parts."

Those parts came with a pretty big price tag, but his parents were proud of his initiative. So his father couldn't say no, but as an engineer himself he questioned whether or not it would work.

"He said 'Daddy I know what I'm doing,'" Sajid's father Abdul Khan said.

Sajid taught himself by watching YouTube videos.

"He almost memorized the whole thing," his mother Rimi Khan said.

It only took Sajid about two hours, over two days, to finish. His mom couldn't believe how fast he did it.

"He was so fast at it that we thought he's not putting things right," Rimi said.

"I just saw him plugging in stuff and screwing stuff," Sajid's 9-year-old brother Raiyan said. "It was amazing because I didn't know what he was doing."

Raiyan is still amazed.

"It's very cool to have a brother that can build a whole computer," Raiyan said.

Sajid's parents are too.
"We were really surprised because right away it worked," Rimi said.

"It's amazing. Unbelieveable," Abdul said.

Now Sajid's computer can keep up with him.
"You can play faster and smoother and so your game doesn't freeze in the middle of something," Sajid said.

Now that the hard work is done, it's back to fun and games.

Kids have more information today than when I was growing up. I had to learn computer repair by hit and miss.
