RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A man of the law was arrested for driving under the influence after crashing his car last night. The Department of Public Safety says the crash happened on Robb Drive near Sharlands Avenue in northwest Reno.

The off-duty parole and probation officer was getting off Interstate 80 and trying to turn right onto Robb, but failed to make the turn.

The Department of Public Safety says he crossed over the opposite lanes and crashed through a fence. The officer was booked into Washoe County Jail.

The Department of Public Safety says they will not release his name due to a personnel issue. News 4 is working to find out his employment status.

Hotvawt - It is a "personnel" issue, not a "personal" issue. However, the name should be released.

Maybe the former law enforcement officer is a close friend of the police officer who arrested him and regretted seeing the arrest.

Is that all we have to do to keep our name out of the paper? Just say we have a personal issue.
