Officer involved crash on I-80 eastbound

Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Three have been hospitalized after a police car crashed into a civilian vehicle on I-80 eastbound. 

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6th between the intersection with US 350 and the Wells offramp. 

According to Sargeant John Hamilton with the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, the crash was between a red Saturn carrying two people, and a Reno Police cruiser carrying one officer and one officer in training. Both the crash victims in the Saturn and one of the officers were hospitalized and are being treated for minor injuries. 

 For the duration of the on-scene investigation, all but one of the eastbound lanes were closed. 

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
