Official play begins for Reno-Tahoe Open

Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Reno-Tahoe Open four-day PGA tournament teed off Thursday morning. 132 PGA players are competing for a $3 million dollar purse with the winner going home with $540,000.

The 72-hole Modified Stableford competition is one of the few on the PGA Tour according to RTO director Chris Hoff says.

The winner will also walk away with 300 FedExCup points.

Tickets can be purchased at the front gate of Montreux Golf & Country Club or by calling (775) 322-3900.

Adults are $20 a day. Youth accompanied by an adult under the age of 15 are free.

As for parking, the Galena High School parking lot is available and with two canned food donations parking is free.
