WASHINGTON D.C. (YAHOO) -- Health officials in Washington D.C. are considering a mandatory 24-hour waiting period before getting a tattoo or piercing, according to Yahoo! News
If this regulation goes into effect, you would visit a tattoo shop, talk to the artist about what you want, and come back 24 hours later to get it.
A Department of Health spokesperson says this regulation would prevent people from getting tattoos or piercings under the influence or just simply regretting it the next day.
Tattoo shops say this regulation would hurt their business.
The idea still has several hurdles to clear before coming law in, D.C. The public has 30 days to voice their opinions.
