INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A two-year old 160-pound male black bear was captured today in a Nevada Department Of Wildlife trap set yesterday afternoon at a location in Incline Village.
NDOW says they had never handled the bear before. It has been tranquilized and processed by NDOW and will be released back into the wild on Friday somewhere on the Nevada side of the Lake Tahoe Basin. Processing means the bear got an ear tag and a tattoo on its mouth. DNA samples were also taken.
The traps set in Yerington, Topaz Ranch and in the foothills of Reno are still active overnight and have not caught any bears thus far.
