Update 9:51PM - Sutro street is now reopened. The identity of the deceased has still not been released at this time.
UPDATE 4:35PM - Reno Police say the incident happened around 2:45pm and say it looks like one of the vehicles was traveling northbound on Sutro in the northbound travel lane. That vehicle veered into the southbound travel lanes and was hit by a vehicle traveling south on Sutro.
Police say three of the four occupants of the southbound vehicle were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, it is unknown if alcohol or a prior medical condition is the cause of the cras.
The names of the involved people are being with held at this time pending the investigation.
Sutro Street between Wedekind and McCarran will be closed for several hours while the Reno Police Department continues to investigate this accident. The Reno Police Department asks drivers to please be patient while we continue this investigation and advise to please avoid the area or use an alternate route if possible.
RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Reno Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened between two cars just north of the intersection of Sutro Street and Paintbrush Road. One of the cars was a suburban.
There were three occupants in one vehicle who only had minor injuries. The sole occupant of the other vehicle has died.
Police say it's unknown where the crash caused the death, or of the person had a medical condition.
Police are on scene investigating and one side of the road is closed. Police expect to open it in the next hour.
