SUN VALLEY, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- One man is dead after a vehicle struck a moped in Sun Valley on Friday.

Accoring to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the incident happened between Second and Third Avenues at around 9:30. The moped was pulling out of a driveway onto Sun Valley Boulevard when it was struck by a Ford Explorer traveling southbound.

When troopers arrived on scene, the moped was pinned under the Explorer. The four people who were in the Explorer are not hurt, and a preliminary investigation indicates the man riding the moped failed to yield when exiting the driveway.

no helmet, no license, no insurance, lights, etc. these are major loopholes and ignoring basic safety restraints is idiotic. Your insults and red herring logic is why my insurance is so expensive. I have accident "forgiveness"- those little scooters have none. Bubba U rode it, U broke it

If the moped rider was crushed under an SUV I seriously doubt wearing a helmet would have made a difference. On this subject, why don't CAR drivers and passengers ALSO wear helmets too? FAR more car drivers die from head injuries every year than bike and moped riders. BTW-moped riders aren't REQUIRED to wear helmets, just like CAR drivers-I guess under that parameter,YOU'RE a fool, too.

I'll bet the moped rider wasn't wearing a helmet. I see SO many riders that don't. Fools.
