CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- One man is hospitalized after a shooting in Carson City Thursday evening. The victim was shot by a homeowner in the Desatoya Drive area.

On Friday, the Carson City Sheriff's Office reported five people have been arrested on a host of charges related to an assault and drugs at a home on Desatoya and Woodside drive. According to deputies, the group allegedly beat up an unidentified man, who then fled through yards on Desatoya Drive. That's when deputies arrived on scene and reported multiple shots being fired.

Sheriff's deputies say the man had been shot in the leg, and was located in the 3100-block of Desatoya Drive. Sheriff Ken Furlong said everything happened very fast. "Apparently inside the house, there was an altercation. There were multiple shots being fired."

Paramedics treated the man, and he was taken to Renown Medical Center by Care Flight.
