Panetta opens combat roles to women

Senior defense officials say Pentagon chief Leon Panetta is removing the military's ban on women serving in combat, opening hundreds of thousands of front-line positions and potentially elite commando jobs after more than a decade at war.

As a combat vet it is hard enough to keep your self alive without trying to look out for a woman, sounds bad but that`s the way American men are brought up and the last thing any one wants is to see a dead American girl

This saddens me. We have women that serve in all branches in the military and are some of our greatest American hero's! I'd rather have someone whether they are a man or women, or whatever fighting our front line, then some idiot just because he's a fellow guy! I believe in protecting women, however I don't have any right telling them how to live their lives. Not to mention fighting for our country. I am so proud of all our men and women of our military! This debate is just ridiculous!
