CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the woman who was hit and killed on Sunday in Carson City on Highway 50.
Celeste Santens, 27, was hit and killed by a black 1999 Ford Expedition SUV as she attempted to walk across the 4-lane highway around 11:00 pm Sunday evening.
NHP says the driver of the SUV, 48-year-old Cynthia A. Munroe of Dayton, fled the crash scene and was located a short time later in Dayton. She submitted to a voluntary blood draw before being booked into the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility for leaving the scene of an accident causing injury as well as operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.
Her total bail was $10,000. She posted bond and was released from jail early yesterday morning.
