STATELINE, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The man who was hit by a car on U.S. Highway 50 near Stateline last month died from his injuries on Friday, August 23rd.

The pedestrian, 31-year-old Cody J. Dobson of Carson City, was hit just east of the casino corridor near Lake Parkway in Douglas County on Aug. 10. Dobson may have been walking on the highway or stumbled from the adjacent sidewalk just east of the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa prior to being struck. One witness who stopped to help told Nevada Highway Patrol he was driving west when he observed a person lying in one of the eastbound travel lanes. When he turned his vehicle around to provide assistance, he saw a full size blue Dodge pickup hit the downed pedestrian. NHP says the pickup may have a camper shell matching the color of the vehicle as well.

On the morning of the crash, Dobson was initially transported from the scene by ground ambulance and taken to Barton Memorial Hospital before being flown to Renown Regional Medical Center by Cal Star. NHP says alcohol does appear to be a contributing factor in this event, as Dobson displayed signs of intoxication both at the scene and the hospital. He was pronounced dead at Renown on Friday, Aug. 23.
