Pedestrian struck by train in Sparks, ruled as suicide

SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- Sparks PD tells News 4 the man killed by a train last night in Sparks laid down on the tracks, turned the other way, and was struck by the train.

Police have ruled the incident as a suicide.

UPDATE: 10:00 a.m.
SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- A Union Pacific spokesperson has confirmed that the pedestrian struck by a train in Sparks late Monday died in the crash at 12:11 a.m.

SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- One pedestrian was struck by a train on the Union Pacific tracks at Galletti Way and Barnett Way -- where Galletti dead-ends near Kietzke Lane -- late Monday night, according to Sparks Police.

Sparks PD tells News 4 the collision occurred around 11:15 p.m. Monday and the investigation is still in progress.
