STEAD, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The pilot who died in the helicopter crash near the Reno-Stead Airport has been identified as Michael Seeliger.

According to FAA documents, Seeliger was the registered owner of the helicopter. An airport spokesperson said two helicopters were flying together on Sunday, when one lost communication with the other. The pilot reportedly turned around, found the wreck and called for help.

Both helicopters were recreational kit helicopters and seat only one person.
