MINDEN, Nev. (AP) — The pilot killed in a Douglas County plane crash has been positively identified as a Gardnerville man.
Sheriff's deputies say 46-year-old Keith Jorgenson was the lone person aboard the small plane that took off late Wednesday afternoon from Minden-Tahoe Airport.
His body was found in the wreckage Thursday in the Pinenut Mountain Range about 14 miles southeast of the airport.
Deputies say Jorgenson had planned to return to the airport by nightfall Wednesday.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by federal authorities.
