Pioneer Crossing Casinos to offer 4 scholarships in memory of deceased coworkers

FERNLEY/DAYTON, Nev. (KRNV & -- Pioneer Crossing Casino has announced the addition of four new scholarship programs, two at Fernley High School and two at Dayton High School.

Each scholarship is $1,000 and is available each school year. The inaugural recipients will be awarded the scholarships in time for this year’s 2013 graduating class.

The scholarships were created in the memory of three members of the Pioneer Crossing Casino Family, lost in a tragic vehicle accident on Highway 50 between Fernley and Dayton on August 14, 2012. The three Pioneer Crossing Casino team members were traveling between the companies two casinos located in Fernley and Dayton when the accident occurred. Those lost were: Troy Sibson-Property General Manager, Michael Sodka – Accounting Manager and Jason Counterman – Maintenance/Engineer.

Pioneer Crossing Casino owns and operates two casinos in Lyon County, one in Fernley and one in Dayton.
