Reno, NV (MyNews4.com) -- On Friday January 11th, the University of Nevada formally introduced Brian Polian as their new head football coach. He was approved by the Board of Regents in Las Vegas Friday morning with a 10-3 vote.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports that Polian's deal is 5-year contract with a base salary of $475,000. After two years, his base salary will increase by $50,000. He will receive an extra $50,000 per year for media appearances and $10,000 for hosting events.
The University of Nevada moved very quickly after Hall of Fame Coach, Chris Ault, stepped down on December 28th. It took the university two weeks to fill the position.
