Police investigating body found in river

SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Sparks Police are investigating a body found in the Truckee river on the 400 block of Galletti Way.

Sparks Police received the call around 1:35pm. An officer arrived on scene and found a white male adult face down in the river. He pulled him out of the water and attempted to resuscitate him with the assistance of REMSA medics. The victim was then transported to Renown Medical by REMSA where resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The victim did not have any identification on him.

The victim is described as a white male adult, approximately 30-40 years old. He was wearing black shorts and a grey t-shirt. On the bank where he was found officers located a light green "Pacific" mountain bike and a black and red backpack.

The Sparks Police Department is trying to tentatively identify the victim by his tattoos.
