Police investigating fatal crash in Sparks

SPARKS, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Police are investigating an early morning fatal crash that occurred around 12:45 a.m. at Baring Blvd. and Round Mountain in Sparks.

Sparks Dispatch received a call of a vehicle that struck a tree in the median on Baring east of Springland. From witness statements and evidence at the scene, the vehicle, a silver 2004 Honda sedan, was driving eastbound on Baring from Sparks Blvd. at a high rate of speed. The driver, a 22-year-old male and Sparks resident, lost control of the vehicle and drove up on the median hitting a tree on the passenger side.

The driver was declared deceased at the scene. The identity of the driver is being held pending notification of next of kin. The Sparks Police Department is asking anyone who witnessed the accident or saw the vehicle prior to the accident to contact Sgt. Walsh at 353-2241 ext 503 with any information.

those are kinda spindly trees in the median. when R these 2loud lowriders gonna wise up? there was another fatality near here not long ago, gee a divided roadway 4 lanes and stop signs is all that
