CLARK COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- State of Nevada Department of Corrections is looking for Nevada inmate Alberto Morales.

Authorities say Morales escaped custody while being returned to Nevada from Florida Monday evening after officers were stopped in Texas.

A Florida officer was said to be seriously injured in the escape.

Morales was committed to the Nevada Department of Corrections on April 1, 2008 on a Failure to Stop on Signal. Subsequently, warrants from Clark County on Morales were received by the Department. The Department then say they received a Judgment of Conviction in June of 2008 for two sexual assaults with the use of a deadly weapon.

Morales was transferred to Florida in September of 2008, pending trial, conviction and sentencing on outstanding Florida charges.

Morales could be armed and is considered dangerous. If you see him, call 911.
