UPDATE - 3:15PM - Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $2,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted.
SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Sparks Police are looking for a suspect in an attempted kidnapping that happened at 9:30 last night.
The victim, a 50-year-old female Sparks resident, says she was in a convenience store in the 2100 block of Victorian Avenue when a Hispanic male started honking his horn from a white van parked out front. The suspect then began flashing the headlights on the van as the victim walked out of the store. The victim approached the van, and the suspect changed seats. He then opened the passenger side door, pointed a handgun at the victim and exposed his genitals to the her. The suspect set the gun down and suddenly grabbed the victim by the arm attempting to drag her into the van while telling her she was coming with him. Police say the victim struggled with the suspect and managed to break his grasp, causing a minor injury to her arm.
A male friend of the victim were nearby and heard the commotion. He confronted the suspect who pointed the handgun at the witness and drove away. The male witness then called Sparks P.D. and gave a description of the suspect and his vehicle. Officers checked the area but were unable to located the van.
The vehicle is described as a white full-size panel style van with no side windows, California license plates and possibly a black metal cage in the interior.
The suspect is described as a Hipanic male, 30-40 years of age with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a dark colored hoodie style sweatshirt and jeans.
