SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Sparks Police are looking for suspects involved in an attempted fraud.

Police say the suspects identified themselves as "Victory Sports" when they contacted management at Jazz Louisiana Kitchen Restaurant. The person on the phone indicated that the money would pay for the restaurants logo to be embroidered on t-shirts that would be worn by the Reed girls volleyball team. A few days later, the restaurant received a thank you letter which showed Victory Sports to be based out of Texas with a P.O. Box for an address. Police say the restaurant was again contacted by phone and the caller attempted to get the manager of the restaurant to provide credit card information over the phone to complete the donation. Officers talked to Reed High School staff who said that they had never heard of the company.

Any people or businesses that may have received similar calls are asked to contact the Sparks Police Department detective division at 353-2225.

Sparks Police Department would also like to remind people to never provide credit card or account numbers to persons over the phone unless you initiated the contact and are confident that you are dealing with a legitimate business.
