RENO/SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A total of 21 drivers were arrested over the Thanksgiving holiday in Reno and Sparks. Nevada Highway Patrol says 12 of the arrests were for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, with one being a felony DUI. Eight others were for misdemeanor traffic warrants, stemming from failing to appear for a traffic citation or failure to comply with the court.
One person was arrested for failure to maintain travel lane, felony possession of a schedule I & II controlled substance with the intent to sell, trafficking, and conspiracy to violate the uniformed controlled substance act.
Last year on this same holiday, a total of 21 drivers and one pedestrian were arrested. NHP says those arrests included 10 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, 10 for warrants, one stolen vehicle, and one pedestrian for felony probation violation.
